Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before commencing lessons with Euphonia Music.
1. Fees and Payment
| Individual Lessons | Paired Lessons | Group Lessons (4+ students) |
|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes: £21.50 | 30 minutes: £12.50 | 60 minutes: £15.00 |
| 45 minutes: £32.25 | 45 minutes: £18.75 | 90 minutes: £22.50 |

Exam accompanying fee (not for Piano/keyboard students): £21.50
Regular lessons will be invoiced, and paid for in advance, for the following half term (this will vary between 5-8 weeks). Paying upfront secures your time slot for the subsequent weeks.
The fee covers all lesson planning, preparation of personalised resources, marking and feedback. Wherever possible, music will be provided on loan; however, you may occasionally need to purchase your own copies. Any borrowed music that is lost or significantly damaged will be subject to a replacement charge.
Lessons will not usually take place on Bank Holidays. Additional lessons (for example, during school holidays or in the lead-up to exams) can be arranged at a mutually convenient time and will be charged on an ad hoc basis. One-off trial lessons are chargeable.
Payment should be made by bank transfer to: Emily Braverman, Sort code 30-91-74 (Lloyds), Account number 11772568.
These prices are in line with the Independent Society of Musicians private music tuition fees survey (2025).
2. Missed Lessons and Illness
If you need to miss a lesson and provide at least 7 days' notice, you will be offered an alternative lesson time or the lesson fee will be deducted from your next invoice.
If you give less than 7 days' notice, any rearrangement or deduction is at the Teacher's discretion.
If the Teacher cancels a scheduled, prepaid lesson, the Pupil will be given the choice of a rearranged time/date, a deduction from the next invoice, or a refund.
In the case of minor illness (e.g. coughs and colds), please inform the Teacher in advance so that the lesson can be moved online if appropriate. This avoids the unnecessary spread of illness. Please also ensure that the Pupil arrives at their lesson with clean hands.
3. Examinations, Competitions and Public Performances
The Pupil will not be entered for any exam, competition or public performance without the prior consent of both the Teacher and the Pupil (and the Pupil's parent or carer, where applicable).
For instrumental exams (excluding piano), at least one piece must be accompanied. In most cases, the Teacher can provide accompaniment for a fee of £21.50. If this is not possible, local accompanists can be recommended, and payment should be made directly to them.
4. Termination of Tuition
Either party may terminate this Agreement by giving notice verbally or in writing. Such termination may take effect immediately (with no refund for any prepaid lessons) or at the end of the current half term. Please give as much notice as possible.
5. Communication and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Communication may take place via text/WhatsApp, email, in the Pupil's notebook, or verbally.
Personal information will not be shared without consent from the Pupil or their parent/carer. No physical records are kept; digital Pupil Profiles and invoicing details are stored securely using password protection and multi-factor authentication.
6. Safeguarding
Any audio or video recordings made during lessons will only be shared with the Pupil and their parent or carer and will then be deleted from the Teacher's device.
Prior to any concerts or performances, consent will be obtained for photos and videos to be taken and shared with families.
Parents/carers must remain contactable for the duration of their child's lesson using the phone number provided on the Pupil Profile form.
The Teacher renews Safeguarding training every two years through Stoke City Council. If there are any concerns regarding a child's welfare, appropriate procedures will be followed, including referral to the Staffordshire Families Integrated Front Door (SFIFD) Service.
The Teacher holds an Enhanced DBS certificate (available to view on request) and full membership of the Independent Society of Musicians, which includes Public Liability Insurance.
7. Governing Law, Jurisdiction and Disputes
This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the area in which the lessons take place. Both Parties agree that any disputes related to this Agreement will be handled exclusively by the courts in that same jurisdiction.
